OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
1. HOW TO ENTER: No Purchase Necessary to enter or win. Go to the websites
https://www.beatport.com and
http://www.beatportal.com (the "Website"),
starting on October 1, 2007 where you will find a link to the Felix Da Housecat MixTape Contest.
Once you are connected to the Contest area of the site, you will be provided with instructions on
how to enter your MixTape (which must include a list of the song names and artists' names
included in the MixTape), the Entry Form and Release Form.
If your entry is selected, you will also be required to sign a hard copy of the Entry Form and
Release Form as part of the contest closing documents before the prize will be awarded.
2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS: All Contest entries must comply with the requirements of these
official rules to be eligible to participate. Entrants need to have a minimum of three (3)
years experience spinning in clubs or at parties or related events. Entrants will need to
provide details on their related experience on the entry form. The Contest is open to all
legal individual residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United States (except Rhode Island)
who have reached their twenty-first birthday as at October 1, 2007, except for
employees of Nettwerk Music Group, Beatport, Beatportal and Serato (collectively the "Sponsors")
and their affiliated companies, advertising and promotional agencies, and all persons with whom
such excepted persons are domiciled.
Individuals may enter this Contest only if entering the Contest will not put them in breach of, or
conflict with, any agreements which they are a party to.
3. ENTRY DATES AND DEADLINES: Contest opens at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on October 1, 2007
and closes at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on October 18, 2007. Entries must be received on or
before the closing date.
4. SUBMISSIONS: Create your best 30 minute Electro/Alt Rock mix and upload an MP3 file, maximum
file size of 75 MB (megabytes) of your MixTape via the Internet, along with your name, email,
phone number, address, detailed DJ experience and the title of your MixTape, the list of song
titles and the artists' names, and the Entry Form and Release Form on the contest website at
http://stems.nettwerk.com/felixdahousecat.
MixTape must be no longer than thirty (30) minutes in duration and the genre for the mix is
Electro/Alternative Rock. The mix must include one (1) Felix the Housecat track (remix or original)
of your choice. The MixTape must be mixed live (no computers, ProTools or editing allowed).

By participating, entrants agree to abide by these official Contest rules and warrant that they meet
the eligibility requirements set forth herein.
5. PRIZES: The Grand Prize Winner will play a thirty minute live set just prior to Felix Da Housecat's
set at his November 3, 2007 show at "Rebel" in New York City. The Grand Prize also consists of a trip
for two to New York City. The trip for two includes return economy airfare to New York City from the
airport nearest the Prize winner's home address which is regularly serviced by commercial airlines, two
(2) nights standard hotel accommodation at a hotel to be determined by the Sponsors
(based on double occupancy) and Five Hundred U.S. Dollars ($500.00 USD) spending money.
In addition the Grand Prize winner will receive one (1) Rane Serato Scratch LIVE SL 1 package
(approximate value of the Grand Prize is $3,550.00 USD). All other expenses are the responsibility
of the winner and his or her travelling companion, including meals, gratuities, taxes,
transportation between the winner's/travelling companion's residence and the nearest commercially
serviced airport, transportation between the New York airport and the hotel, and all other
expenses of a personal nature. The Prize winner and his or her travelling companion are
responsible for ensuring that they have all necessary travel documentation for travel to New York.
Four secondary prizes will be awarded consisting of one (1) autographed copy of Felix Da Housecat's new
CD "Virgo Blaktro & the Movie Disco" and one (1) One Hundred U.S. Dollar ($100.00 USD) gift
certificate for Beatport.com (approximately value of each secondary prize is One Hundred
Twenty-Five U.S. Dollars ($125.00 USD).
The prizes are not transferable, refundable, or redeemable for cash. The prizes must be
accepted as described and as awarded and no cash option is available.
Winner agrees that Sponsors and their affiliated companies, parents, subsidiaries,
advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors,
employees, representatives, and agents will have no liability whatsoever, and will be
held harmless by Winner for any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any
kind to persons, including death, and property resulting in whole or in part, directly or
indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of the prize, or participation in this Contest.
Before being declared a winner of any prize, any selected entrant who is a Canadian resident,
must have correctly answered a mathematical skill-testing question posed during a telephone
interview or in person, without mechanical or other assistance. Before being declared a winner,
each selected entrant will be required to sign a Declaration and Release Form confirming
compliance with the Contest rules and acceptance of the prize as awarded, releasing the
Sponsors from any and all liability in association with the contest or the prize.
The Declaration and Release forms sent via facsimile will be accepted in order to
comply with the referenced time constraint but the original must be mailed to Sponsor contemporaneously.
6. JUDGING: Eligible entries will be judged by Beatport, Beatportal and Felix himself.
All eligible entries will be listened to and rated based on the following criteria:
33% originality, 33% creativity and 33% content and viability in the DJ market.
Judging will be conducted by the judging panel in its sole and exclusive discretion.
All decisions of the judging panel are final. In the event of a tie, a tiebreaker will be
conducted based upon skill. For Wisconsin residents only, in the event of a tie,
duplicate prizes will be awarded. Selected Entrants will be determined on or shortly after
October 24, 2007. The chances of being selected depend upon the total number of eligible
entries received and upon the decisions of the judging panel. This Contest is subject to all
applicable federal, provincial, state and municipal laws and regulations.
7. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Only one entry per person. The Sponsors are not responsible for lost,
late, damaged, misdirected, illegible, incomplete entries, interrupted or unavailable network,
server, Internet or other connections, miscommunications, failed phone or computer hardware or
software or telephone transmissions or technical failures, garbled or jumbled transmissions or
other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic or for exposure to computer
viruses or for damage to participant's computer by accessing the websites
https://www.beatport.com and
http://www.beatportal.com.
Without limiting anything to the contrary contained herein, the Sponsors make no
warranty that any particular remix/sequencing software program will function as required for this Contest.
It is your sole responsibility to ensure that your recording/remix system(s) functions correctly.
Entrants must provide a valid email address. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the
person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose
name the email account is registered.
The Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Contest should a virus,
bug or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsors corrupt the security or
proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to
undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws,
and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages
to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Entries are subject to
verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced,
mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way or if they violate third
party rights or are otherwise not in compliance with these rules.
The Sponsors reserve the right to cancel this promotion at any time for any reason.
In the event of such cancellation, previously submitted entries will be returned to the
entrants and the Sponsors will not retain any rights in the associated MixTape or exploit
such materials in any way.
Sponsors reserve the sole right to extend the deadline of the determinations of the winning
entries for one extension period of seven (7) days.
Entrants hereby represent and warrant that all of the music, vocals or additional lyrics
included in their MixTape (other than the tracks provided on the Website) are wholly original
or properly licensed for use therein and that no music, vocals or lyrics have been copied
from any other source or otherwise violate any third party rights. Sponsors will not be
responsible or held liable for any music, vocals or lyrics which are included in any
submitted materials which have been copied from any other source without first obtaining
valid permission to do so.
Entrant hereby grants to Sponsors the right to make the MixTape available for audio streaming on
Sponsors' or Sponsors' licensees, affiliates or assigns websites and that entrant shall not be
entitled to any payment of any kind as a result of such use. Entrant hereby agrees to indemnify
Sponsors from any and all breaches of this section and any liability, costs or expenses associated therewith.
8. NOTIFICATION: Selected Entrants will be notified by e-mail by the close of business October 24, 2007.
Selected Entrants will have forty-eight (48) hours from the date of attempted notification to respond to
the notification via telephone or e-mail. In the event that any Winner does not respond to the notification
within this forty eight (48) hour period, does not meet the eligibility requirements, or fails to return a
complete Declaration & Release within the specified time period, such Winner will be deemed in Sponsor's
sole discretion, to have forfeited his/her win and chances to participate. The next highest rated entry
will be chosen from the remaining eligible entries. Sponsors are not responsible for late, lost or
misdirected notification.
Entrants are encouraged to print out a copy of these official Contest rules for future reference.
To receive a copy of these official Contest rules by mail, send the request with a self-addressed

No correspondence will be entered into except with the Selected Entrants. By entering this Contest,
except where prohibited by law, the Selected Entrants consent to the use of their name and/or photograph,
without compensation, in any publicity carried out by Sponsors, in connection with the Contest in any and
all media without territorial or time limitations, and they waive all rights with respect to printed,
broadcast and other publicity.
